Morales, an authenticator for garbage-quality fake-autograph supplier Coach's Corner, has authenticated dozens and dozens of Babe Ruth autographs. Upcoming Robert Edwards Auctions To Sell T206 Honus Wagner Card. Every T206 Wagner naturally has a great story, sharing the Wagner legend that is now part of classic American folklore, and every Wagner also has an additional story relating to its provenance. Collectors have always been fascinated with all aspects of the history of Wagners: how they were discovered, where they have been purchased, when, for how much, where they have been, how they have happened to survive. This is a particularly fascinating card in that it has a long history of being one of the few Wagners that can be traced back in the hobby over forty years, once being the prize card of Irv Lerner, author of Who's Who In Baseball Card Collecting.

Packers Super Bowl rings on hold for now. Bill Pennington of the New York Times notes that the Packers haven’t ordered their Super Bowl rings yet. The team wants input from the players, and can’t speak with them until the lockout is over. Teams usually have a some sort of ring ceremony during the offseason as well, which will also be put off if there is no agreement.

UCLA Unhappy About Auction of Pauley Court. The school has tried for more than 10 years to reacquire the center circle from the current owner, a UCLA alum, and that it had a donor ready to contribute to a charity of the owner's choice. Bishop Ford Central Catholic High agreed last week to pay $53,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by a prominent sports memorabilia auction house that claimed the Brooklyn school interfered with its attempts to collect a judgment from rapper-turned-historian Peter J. Nash.

Red Auebach’s championship rings to be auctioned. Starting next month, SCP Auctions will put basketball memorabilia of Hall of Fame coach Arnold “Red” Auerbach on the block in three Internet auctions. Items include Auerbach’s 1968 Basketball Hall of Fame induction ring; his Boston Celtics championship rings from 1962, 1974, 1976 and 1981; his first contract to coach the Celtics signed by Auerbach and team owner Walter Brown in 1950; his 1957 Celtics satin warm-up jacket; and his 1,000th career win trophy presented to him on Feb. 13, 1966 at Boston Garden and several humidors from the cigar-loving coach’s collection.

Historic 1914 Boston Braves World Series ring, issued to Hall of Fame second baseman Johnny Evers to be featured in upcoming Robert Edward Auction.
When Robert Edward Auctions was first contacted by a member of the Evers family about this ring they were both somewhat skeptical and excited. Skeptical because it was their understanding that the first team-issued World Series rings ever produced were those given to the New York Giants players in 1922. Excited, because the discovery of this ring not only potentially rewrites World Series ring history, but solves a long-standing hobby mystery as well.

Auction opens on ‘golden’ net from Vancouver Olympics. The net eluded the grasp of Hall of Fame officials, who tried to secure it last year from an Olympic equipment supplier and even announced at one point that it would be joining the puck, stick and gloves as part of the museum’s Vancouver Games display. Hall of Famer Center Fielder Duke Snider Dies at 84. Duke Snider, the Hall of Fame center fielder for the charmed "Boys of Summer" who helped the Dodgers bring their elusive and only World Series crown to Brooklyn, died early Sunday of what his family called natural causes. He was 84.
