Here's Ben Marks suggestions: He's senior editor at CollectorsWeekly.com, an online news source for antiques and memorabilia. $100,000 in sports cards recovered in traffic stop. An early morning traffic stop Thursday led to the recovery of an estimated $100,000 in sports cards, memorabilia and other collectable items that were reportedly stolen recently during a burglary on Brown Avenue.

NFL players from the state of Montana team up to help fight cancer. Every former Montana football player who suits up on Sundays has donated autographed memorabilia to a raffle drawing that will take place on Super Bowl Sunday. The proceeds of the drawing benefit two Missoula-area children who are battling brain and bone cancer.

Michigan Sports Hall of Fame exhibit opens at the Detroit Historical Museum. A new exhibit has opened inside the Community Gallery at the Detroit Historical Museum featuring pieces from the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame (MSHOF) collection. Comebacks and championships is the theme of the interactive exhibit. It features memorabilia from six teams -- the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Pistons, Detroit Lions, Michigan Wolverines and even the Michigan State Spartans.

NFL Experience opens today at Dallas Convention Center. The nine-day event is spread out over 850,000 square feet of space inside the Dallas Convention Center and has more than 75 interactive games. NFL officials hope area residents will visit this weekend — before Super Bowl crowds arrive. “That first weekend is for the local people in Dallas,” said NFL director of events Christine Mills. “I’d rather have them experience it without the lines of Super Bowl weekend when everyone is in town.”

Ken Griffey Jr. Rookie Card Helps Cops Catch Thieves in New York. Ken Griffey Jr.'s 1989 rookie Upper Deck-brand baseball card is worth $750 to $1,500. JSA Error Results In A Hearing to consider new trial for Auctioneer convicted of selling fake sports merchandise on ebay. JSA had certified as authentic an autograph on the cover of a 2008 re-release of "Kill 'Em All," a Metallica album, signed by Cliff Burton. Burton died 22 years before the album was re-released.

Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew battling cancer. Hall of Fame slugger Harmon Killebrew has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Killebrew, 74, released a statement through the Minnesota Twins on Thursday, saying he expects to make a full recovery from the "very serious" condition.

Baseball memorabilia shop to close. Patrick Bassi remembers when Pittsfield had at least 10 stores that sold all manner of sports memorabilia -- from baseball cards to plaques, team wastebaskets to sports clocks, license plates to decals. That era officially comes to an end today when Bassi closes Bassball Sports Cards on Elm Street, which he has operated out of four different city locations for exactly 20 years.
